for presenting the 30th Annual Grand Western Shindig on December 3, 2009 at Leon Springs Dancehall.Because of Kinetic Concepts, Inc.'s generosity, the dedication andleadership of Event Co-Chairs (Marty & Denise Landon and Bill &Laura Mason), and the steadfast support of our underwriters, auctiondonors and attendees, we were able to net an incredible overall totalof $446,069!  Making Shindig 2009 a huge success!

We would also like to thank the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation for presenting the "Help-A-Kid SOAR Challenge"!  Let's not forget our three musketeers!  Gordon Hartman, Harvey Najim of the Harvey E. Najim Family Foundationand Penny Simone, Mission Road's School Liaison, for teaming up thatevening to be our program spokespersons and helping to bring in arecord $135,465to be used solely for the SOAR & More Program.  WOW what a TEAM! Thank you Gordon, Harvey and Penny...you are true friends and greatcrusaders for our kiddos!!

And last but not least, many thanksto Elsa Ramon, News 4 WOAI Evening Anchor, and Rick Shaw, owner of LaFonda in Alamo Heights, for an incredible job as our Mistress ofCeremonies and Auctioneer.  We couldn't have done it without you two!

 


Sinceit's beginning in 1979, Mission Road Ministries’ Shindig has grown froman intimate gathering of 70 friends to become known as one of thecity’s most enjoyable charity events attracting 700 attendees.  Guestsenjoy seeing old friends and making new ones in a comfortableatmosphere with great food, auctions, live music and dancing.

Stay tuned for details and make plans to attend the upcoming 31st Annual Grand Western Shindig to be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 where we will continue the cowboy tradition that makes this event so unique—no black tie—boots and jeans required.
