2008 Meeting Dates
July 2008
The second Silent Auction Committee Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2008 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm beginning at The QUARRY. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
As we begin our efforts to solicit great auction items, it is important that we provide you with an opportunity to visit the impressive 22-acre campus on the south side of town and see this wonderful organization in action. You can be assured that it is more than inspiring and may be just what everyone needs to jump start our "asks"--as well as not take no for an answer:)
At this meeting we will:
- Take a tour of the Mission Road Campus. The shuttle will leave the Quarry at 6:00pm. Tour at Mission Road (8706 Mission Road) will begin around 6:20-6:30pm. We will tour for 30 minutes and return to the Quarry by 7:30pm.
- Turn in pledge forms and collected items
- Sign up for more prospects in order to acheive a collection goal of 10 auction items/packages (valued at $50 or more) and 1 super silent auction item (valued at $500 or more)
- Get needed materials
- Visit and brainstorm for new ideas

Bring your licker and your sticker... we'll be stuffing about 200 letters and donor forms into envelopes, sealing, and stamping.

At this meeting we will:
- Select the top 14 Live Auction ideas to begin working on
- Develop those ideas into fabulous Live Auction packages
- Assign tasks in order to secure the "Parts & Pieces" of each idea
The first meeting scheduled for the Live Auction Committee is scheduled for Thursday, June 12th, 2008 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Las Las Canarias in the La Mansion del Rio Hotel.
At this meeting we'll comb through the items we’ve received in the past, look for any that we’d like to carry over and come up with a few new ideas to keep things fresh and exciting.

All committee members are invited to join us at our 2008 Shindig Committee Kick-off party compliments of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
Come on by and visit with the Mission Road team along with our 2008 Grand Western Shindig chair, Harvey E. Najim. Meet your committee chairs and get ready to round up some big ideas for the 29th Annual Grand Western Shindig.
